  • Safety protection is of primary importance: use of high-strength steel and New 308’s lighter weight make it even safer
  • Many other aspects contribute to the integrated safety performance of New PEUGEOT 308

The New PEUGEOT 308 five-door hatchback, due on sale in the UK at the beginning of 2014, has just been awarded the maximum score of 5 stars in the Euro NCAP tests. With individual scores of 5 stars in all 4 categories (adult protection, child protection, pedestrian protection and safety assist), the New PEUGEOT 308 confirms it has very high levels of safety protection.

The tests carried out by the independent Euro NCAP were done using the new tighter protocol for allocating results. The New PEUGEOT 308 has high-levels of safety protection, particularly in the equipment fitted as standard:

–         Cruise control-speed limiter
–         ESP, ASR+ traction control
–         Six airbags (two frontal, two lateral, two curtain)
–         Three-point anchorage Isofix mountings
–         Electric parking brake and Hill Start Assist from ACTIVE trim models (level 2)

The New PEUGEOT 308 also benefits from other innovative driving assistance systems:

–         Active cruise control
–         Collision risk alert
–         Automatic emergency braking
–         Keyless entry and starting
–         Blind spot sensors
–         Reversing camera with parking guidance
–         Peugeot Connect SOS (emergency call) and Peugeot Connect Assistance services

The PEUGEOT i-Cockpit in the New 308 also contributes towards the feeling of well-being on board, due to its compact steering wheel for agile response, head-up instrument panel, large 9.7’’ touch screen and the tall central console.

Finally, numerous connected services are offered for the New PEUGEOT 308, with PEUGEOT Connect Apps, based on mobile internet technology. Due to the ergonomics of the touch screen, the applications developed are easy to access and intuitive in use. The driver has practical information available in real time, facilitating use of the vehicle in everyday life: danger areas (via the Coyote application), free parking spaces nearby, fuel prices in filling stations nearby, traffic information, weather, tourist information, diary, etc.

The launch of the New PEUGEOT 308 has already commenced in major European markets and after a couple of months there have already been more than 24,000 orders placed, well ahead of objectives.

The UK PEUGEOT Dealer network will be taking delivery of showroom display and demonstrators from mid-December, before first deliveries commence in January 2014.  The New 308 follows the successful 208 and 2008 Crossover, and arrives just as re-styled versions of the popular 3008 Crossover and 5008 Compact MPV are also available in the market, not forgetting the stunning and very exciting RCZ R Sports Coupé – the most powerful road-going Peugeot ever sold.
