Dubai, 5 November – The 458 Speciale, the very latest car in the Ferrari range, today made its official Middle East debut on the opening day of the Dubai International Motor Show.

Unveiling the Maranello sports car in front of the press and public were Giancarlo Fisichella, a Ferrari driver in the FIA World Endurance Championship, Giulio Zauner, General Manager of Ferrari Middle East & Africa and Hossam Hosni, General Manager Luxury Auto of Al Tayer Motors, the exclusive Ferrari importer for the United Arab Emirates.

The new special series car from the Maranello marque, like all Ferraris, features an ensemble of technological innovation which makes this car unique and special, aimed at the most demanding of its sports orientated customers who are looking for maximum excitement at the wheel. Patented by Ferrari and a world first are the innovations regarding the whole of the car, especially the power unit, its aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics, with an even more marked difference to the base model, than on special editions from the past, such as the Challenge Stradale and the 430 Scuderia.

On road and track, the 458 Speciale driver feels part of the vehicle itself, as it delivers instant response to inputs and total control in even the most complex of manoeuvres. All drivers can thus reach a high performance level, living an intense and exciting experience at the wheel of Ferrari’s most powerful 8 cylinder engine.

The most powerful aspirated engine (605 cv) and the highest specific power output (135 cv/l) in the history of road-going Ferrari V8 engines, an amazing power to weight ration (2.13 Kg/cv,) aerodynamic efficiency (an E Index of 1.5) and electronic control of the set-up angle (SSC:) these are some, but not all of the characteristics that make this car really Speciale and ensure that it is destined to set the standard for Ferraris of the future.

Alongside the 458 Speciale on the stand are other cars from the Prancing Horse range, such as the FF1, the F12 Berlinetta and the 458 Spider.

MARANELLO’S NEW SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION CAR MAKES ITS DEBUT IN SHANGHAI

Shanghai, 22 April – After Geneva, it’s Shanghai and LaFerrari is again the star of the show. As was the case just over a month ago at the Geneva Motor Show, Maranello’s hybrid supercar undoubtedly attracted the most attention from the press and public alike in Shanghai.

There was a sea of photographers and cameramen in front of the Ferrari stand, right from the opening of the show, waiting for the moment when Amedeo Felisa, the Maranello company’s Managing Director, unveiled the new special limited edition car for the first time in Asia.

“China is strategically very important for us and we will continue to invest in this market,” stated Felisa in his speech. “As of today, we already have 25 dealerships and to the intention is to reach 30 in 2013, before adding a further five the following year.”

After a very positive sales performance in Greater China (People’s Chinese Republic, Hong Kong and Taiwan) in 2012, when it became the second market in the world for the Prancing Horse with around 800 cars sold, the results in the first quarter of this year have also been positive. The Maranello MD placed particular emphasis on the extensive work carried out by Ferrari on reducing consumption and emissions of its range of cars, which has been reduced by 40% in the past five years, along with an increase in power of around 100 hp.

The fact that much attention is being paid to environmental themes in this vast country is underlined by Ferrari’s involvement in the “One Million Trees” project: no fewer than 67,000 trees have been planted by the company in a desert area of China to compensate for the emissions of its cars used on Chinese roads last year.

Only 50 LaFerraris will find their way into the hands of owners in Greater China, out of a total production run of 499. Here too there have been many more requests than can be accommodated, as is the case all over the world: all the more reason to visit the Shanghai Show as it provides an opportunity to see at first hand an amazing car which is already making history.
