Rockleigh, N.J. (May 19, 2015) – Volvo Cars of North America has announced the entire Model Year 2016 lineup, which includes two new S60 variants.

S60 Cross Country

Available with standard all-wheel drive, the S60 Cross Country blends rugged design cues with the sophistication customers have come to expect from Volvo. The S60 Cross Country sits on a raised suspension with 7.9 inches of ground clearance, and is powered by Volvo’s turbocharged 5-cylinder engine, generating 250 horsepower and mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Hill Descent Control is also included as standard.

The exterior features a unique honeycomb grill in Dark Grey, and a lower grill mustache in Classic Black. With black fender extensions and an embossed Cross Country rear skid plate, the S60 Cross Country adds a unique and unexpected look to the S60 product line.

At the Platinum Trim level, the S60 Cross Country is available exclusively in Osmium Grey metallic paint.

S60 Inscription

Expanding the model range even further, the S60 Inscription defines elegance with supreme luxury appointments and an additional 2.9 inches of rear legroom, resulting in best-in-class rear seat accommodations.

Walnut inlays, silk-finish metal trim, interior accent lighting, a power rear sunshade, side window shades, 18-inch Titania alloy wheels, and Inscription-branded tread plates are a few of the other standard luxury features. The S60 Inscription is available with both front- and all-wheel drive.

The addition of the Inscription and Cross Country models to the S60 lineup will help Volvo serve both its luxury and sports-minded sedan buyers.

Other Model Year 2016 Updates

Recognizing the many product enhancements over the last 18 months, including major design updates to S60 and XC60, new Drive-E powertrains and the launch of standard connectivity across the entire Volvo range, the Model Year 2016 models feature minor product specification adjustments and price changes.

The availability of standard navigation for Premier Trim and above remains part of the Model 2016 product offer for all Volvo vehicles.

The S80 and XC70 vehicles have added 18-inch wheels, and heated front seats are now standard. The S80 T5 also now includes a sunroof as standard.

For 2016, Volvo has also streamlined its powertrain offering, removing the 6-cyliner turbo option from both the S80 and the XC70. The XC70 now includes the T5 AWD 5-cylinderpowertrain.

As part of Volvo’s ongoing effort to enhance the exterior design of its vehicles, Model Year 2016 will feature seven new wheels with the majority designed for S60 product line. With the addition of navigation in almost all cars, the company has removed the digital compass.
