  • 0216e7f3-37c6-4837-9eba-57693af87d6e£2500 price reduction announced for May 1
  • BRZ SE Lux just £23,995 (on-the-road)
  • £2,500 saving ensures clear differentiation from new WRX STI performance flagship
  • Subaru UK determined to pass on benefits of favourable exchange rate to customers

Renowned for its accessible driving thrills, the Subaru BRZ is now even more affordable thanks to a £2,500 reduction in its on-the-road price. From 1 May the BRZ range will start at just £23,995 (on-the-road) for the SE Lux model with manual transmission and £25,495 for automatic models.

Powered by a 2.0-litre horizontally-opposed Boxer petrol engine and boasting a low centre of gravity and rear-wheel drive for engaging driving thrills, the BRZ has been reduced in price to ensure clear differentiation from the all-new All-Wheel Drive WRX STI saloon, Subaru’s flagship performance model.

The WRX STI arrives in showrooms during May, priced from £28,995 (OTR) – £4,000 less than the
previous model.

The well-specced BRZ SE Lux is equipped as standard with Alcantara and leather trimmed seats and Torsen rear-axle differential which allows the keen driver to better exploit the sports car’s fine handling characteristics. Auto models feature steering wheel-mounted gear shift paddles.

The changes in prices are possible thanks to improvements in currency exchange, explains Paul Tunnicliffe, Managing Director of Subaru UK. “A more favourable exchange rate between the pound and yen has allowed us to reduce the price of a number of models in recent years, and our performance range – the BRZ and WRX STI – are the latest to benefit. Together, they represent outstanding value for enthusiast drivers seeking a high level of performance, driver interaction and entertainment on the road.”

In the last twelve months Subaru UK has also reduced the price of the All-Wheel Drive XV compact crossover range, while the new Forester has seen its price unchanged over previous versions.
