  • Dongfeng Citroën’s show stand to feature the Citroën C4 L, C-Quatre & New C- Elysée
  • Spotlight on Citroën’s debut WTCC season
  • Citroën Cactus concept also receives Chinese debut at show
  • Strengthened Dongfeng Citroën partnership to increase sales momentum & brand presence in China following record 2013 for registrations

The Beijing Motor Show is a key event for Citroën as the brand strengthens its partnership with Dongfeng and celebrates 20 years in China.

With a record 280,000 registrations in 2013, Dongfeng Citroën enjoyed a 25% increase in sales, outperforming the market’s 19.1% rise. This record result made China Citroën’s number-one market in terms of registrations. Dongfeng Citroën’s 435 dealerships are renowned for their sales and after-sales service, coming third in the JD Power rankings.

In January 2013, the brand launched the Citroën C4 L (76,000 sales by end-March 2014) with the Citroën C-Elysée following in September (38,000 sales by end-March 2014). These two new, locally-produced, three-box saloons have extended Citroën’s existing C-segment range alongside the C-Quatre, winning over an ever broader customer base.

Dongfeng Citroën will continue this momentum at the Beijing Motor Show, revealing a concept car that previews a new production model – also to be made in China – which is set for launch at end of 2014.

Citroën will also showcase its debut World Touring Car Championship campaign at the show. The WTCC is a powerful image-boosting platform for the brand with two WTCC races organised in China (Shanghai 11-12 October & Macau 14-16 November). The C-Elysée WTCC, a racing car based on the C-Elysée saloon, will be driven by Chinese driver Ma Qing Hua, 26, in the Shanghai and Macau races. The Shanghai-born driver is the youngest of the four Citroën C-Elysée WTCC drivers.

The Citroën Cactus concept, first unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013, will also be presented in China for the first time.

The Beijing Motor Show takes place at the China International Exhibition Centre from 20-29 April.
The Dongfeng Citroën stand is in Hall W1 and the press conference is on 20 April at 10.30 am (local time).
