Volvo Trucks are making their debut this week at the Demolition Expo show at Arden Brickworks, near Birmingham, with a new FMX 8×4 Euro 6-compliant tipper.

The Boweld-bodied truck is being displayed on Volvo Trucks’ sister company Volvo Construction Equipment’s stand.

The show takes place on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th June at the Arden Brickworks, Bickenhill, near Solihull, Birmingham.

Saturday is a family day at this easy-to-find venue, which is located close to Junction 6 of the M42, is just off the A45 Coventry Road. Arden Brickworks and quarry also hosted the UK and Ireland launch of the FMX to operators and representatives of the construction and transport media in 2010.

Since its launch, the FMX has made a major impact on the construction truck market. The latest version was launched this year at the BAUMA Show in Germany.

The specification of the truck which is on display at Demolition Expo features Volvo’s latest D13K420, 13-litre Euro-6 engine, which develops 420hp from 1400 to 1800rpm and 2100Nm of torque between 860 and 1400rpm.

It is also equipped with the latest AT2612E 12-speed I-Shift automated gearbox with I-See software. I-See can be likened to an autopilot that takes care of gear selection, acceleration and engine braking on hills in the most fuel efficient way possible.

With this, the latest version of I-See, all trucks so equipped have access to current, updated information about the gradients they come across.

As the information is based on actual topographical conditions – not on maps – it can be refreshed and updated by other I-See equipped Volvo trucks travelling the same route.

Demolition Expo is organised by the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) and visitors will be able to view the latest machinery from Volvo Construction Equipment as well as the latest version of the FMX.
