Chrysler’s iconic design and heritage of innovation to be celebrated during 2015 festival

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance, one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing automotive and motorsports enthusiast events, today announced the honored marque for its 14th annual festival. The 2015 Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival (HHIMF) will pay homage to the historic Chrysler brand, now owned by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), throughout all facets of the event. With its unique experiences, HHIMF is one of very few national automotive gatherings to combine racing and collecting with enthusiast and lifestyle activities in a single, action-packed week.

Kicking off the HHIMF is the Savannah Speed Classic, being held Oct. 23-25, at The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa. As the birthplace of U.S. Grand Prix racing, Savannah, Georgia, is the perfect backdrop for the motorsports event, which will host more than 175 racers and a selection of Chrysler-powered race cars. Chrysler will also make several appearances the following weekend on Hilton Head Island at the Port Royal Golf Club during the Concours portion of the festival, being held Oct. 31-Nov. 1. From the Motoring Midway to the Car Club Showcase to four dedicated classes in the Concours d’Elegance, attendees will have plenty to see from the classic American automotive brand.

From Chrysler Imperials, Woodies and Letter Cars to early Dodges and style-leading DeSotos, attendees will see a complete spectrum of the Chrysler Corporation through the many private collections and past Concours champions on display.

“By celebrating the entire Chrysler Corporation, we’re able to include marques such as Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler and select Chrysler-powered automobiles such as Allard in our event to have a truly unique and full-scale representation,” said Carolyn Vanagel, president of the HHIMF. “We are excited to showcase such a large piece of American automotive manufacturing history and, in turn, offer enthusiasts and collectors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the heritage of the iconic brand.”

In addition to the honored marque, the HHIMF will also celebrate 100 years of BMW, 75 years of Continental, 60 years of Ford Thunderbird and 50 years of Shelby Cobra. On Sunday, Nov. 1, the Concours d’Elegance will feature special classes on the Port Royal Golf Course to honor these four significant milestones.
