NEW INFINITI Q70 PRICING REVEALED

  • New Infiniti Q70 range to cost from £32,650
  • 129g/km CO2 2.2 diesel engine replaces 3.0 V6 diesel
  • Full LED headlights among equipment enhancements
  • Q70 Hybrid now faster and more efficient than ever

Rolle – An attractive new entry price point, lower CO2, extra equipment including full LED front and rear lighting, and a sharp new family look sum up Infiniti’s premium Q70 saloon range for 2015, prices for which have been confirmed.

The upgraded line-up, on sale across Europe from January, starts with a new Q70 2.2d model, powered by a four-cylinder diesel engine developed as part of Infiniti’s strategic cooperation with Daimler.

Mated to a standard seven-speed automatic transmission with available paddleshift (depending on model), the new 2.2 diesel unit in the Q70 emits just 129g/km of CO2 while offering stirring performance thanks to 170PS and a generous 400NM of torque.

Replacing the 3.0-litre V6 diesel in the Q70 range, the new Q70 Premium 2.2d is priced from £32,650. The car comes as standard with full LED headlights, chromed accents on the front grille, a rear-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, with standard Connectiviti+ navigation,  18-inch wheels and leather seats with ventilation, in what is a typically generous  Infiniti standard specification.

It is expected that such attractive pricing for a large premium saloon endowed with exceptional technology and equipment will make the new Q70 2.2d model the most popular Q70 variant in the UK market.

Other versions in the new line-up comprise of ‘Sport’, with an even more expressive look to the front bumper, uprated brakes and 20-inch wheels, among other changes.

Available with selected Premium and Sport models, Tech models come with Infiniti’s Dynamic Safety Shield (intelligent cruise control, lane departure prevention and blind-spot intervention), Bose Premium Surround Sound with 16 speakers and Around-View Monitor with Moving Object Detection and Forest air-conditioning.

As well as the new 2.2 diesel engine, the Q70 for 2015 is available with both 3.7-litre V6 petrol power and, for the flagship, the award-winning Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid powertrain. Benefitting from the enhancements introduced on the Q50S Hybrid, the latest Q70 Hybrid offers even more performance – accelerating from 0-62mph in just 5.3s – and better efficiency, with CO2 emissions at 145g/km.

Marking their European debut at the Paris Motor Show last October, the latest Q70 models are upgraded both under the skin (with improvements to refinement and ride comfort) and above it. A new, more chiselled look to front and rear bumper sections enhances the seductive shape while bringing the Q70 closer to the new family look introduced with the Q50. The headlights retain the distinctive Infiniti design but, for all models in the range they are full LED, like the rear lights.

Prices for each of the versions and their options are attached. The new Q70 will arrive in the Infiniti network from  January 2015.

About the 2015 Infiniti Q70
As Infiniti’s halo sedan, the Infiniti Q70 embraces the essence of all things Infiniti – style, performance, luxury, craftsmanship and technology.

Both the standard and long wheelbase 3.7 and Q70 5.6 models are offered with rear-wheel drive or Infiniti’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system. The Q70 3.7 and Q70L 3.7 feature a 330-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine, while the Q70 5.6 and Q70L 5.6 offers 5.6-liter V8 rated at a 420 horsepower for the Q70 and 416 horsepower for the Q70L. All four models are equipped with a standard 7-speed automatic transmission.

At the core of the 2015 Q70 Hybrid (rear-wheel drive only) is the advanced Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid™ system – an advanced one-motor, two-clutch parallel hybrid system. Its precise, high-speed motor control technology, enabled by the powerful Lithium-ion battery, allows power to be delivered directly to the 7-speed automatic transmission. The Infiniti Q70 Hybrid’s exhilarating driving performance also greatly benefits from use of Infiniti’s proven 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine, which paired with the 50 kW electric motor, provides a hybrid system net power of 360 horsepower. Torque figures are equally impressive, with the V6’s 258 lb-ft of toque combining with the electric motor’s immediately available 214 lb-ft of torque to provide strong performance.

With its redesigned exterior styling for 2015, the refined elegance of the Infiniti Q70 now takes on an even more upscale image.

Infiniti’s signature LED headlights, which evoke inner intelligence and human insight, make an immediate and indelible first impression. The distinctive headlights accentuate the new double arch grille, which now takes on a more three-dimensional look due to the elaborate detail of the high-quality waved mesh finish and chrome surround. The same solid feel is echoed in the new front bumper with integrated LED fog lights, giving the Q70 a dignified presence on road.

From the front, a strong body line rises from the grille, flowing through the bodyside like a wave and blending into the shape of the new rear LED combination lights, forming a compelling profile that highlights the Q70’s sporty stance.

At the rear, the new design of the taillights creates a horizontal flow in motion while the high-quality lighting signature evokes a fresh and classy image. The top line of the trunk lid has been flattened while the rear bumper has been slimmed down to create a longer and lower visual impression, further emphasizing the premium sedan’s sporty and powerful styling. The chrome rear finisher adds a touch of class to the entire rear view. The 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels have also been updated, with designs unique to the two wheelbase versions respectively.

The optional Sport Package features a specially designed front bumper that gives an even lower and wider stance, and 20-inch wheels and tires. The triangular cutouts in the bumper are inspired by racecar wings to give a sporty and bold presence. The lower part of the rear bumper is also finished in high-gloss black paint to make it look even more athletic.

Standard exterior features include automatic on/off LED headlights with windshield wiper interlock, a power sliding tinted glass moonroof with one-touch open/close, tilt feature and sliding sunshade, power-folding heated outside mirrors with integrated LED turn signal with reverse tilt-down feature, rain-sensing variable intermittent front windshield wipers and courtesy lamps built into the outside door handles, rear window defroster with timer, dual exhaust with polished tips and auto-trunk cincher. An Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) with auto-leveling headlights is available as part of the Technology Package.

Reflecting the sensuous lines of the exterior, the new Infiniti Q70 continues to serve up a well-appointed and inviting interior with high-quality materials such as Japanese Ash wood trim, attention to detail, and user-centered technologies.

Standard technology equipment includes Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, Infiniti Intelligent Key with Illuminated Push Button Ignition, HomeLink™ Universal Transceiver and RearView Monitor.

Other interior highlights include power windows with one-touch up/down and auto-reverse feature, power door locks with automatic locking feature, retained accessory power for windows and moonroof, and 6-speaker audio system with AM/FM/CD, Radio Data System (RDS), USB Connection Port for iPod® interface and other compatible devices, steering wheel audio controls and speed-sensitive volume control.

Also standard on all 2015 Q70 models is Active Noise Control, which monitors cabin noise levels using two microphones in the Q70’s ceiling and generates “canceling” sound from four door speakers (and subwoofer for models equipped with a Bose® sound system) to reduce unpleasant engine harmonics.

The new Q70 is also quieter than before, even at high speeds, contributing to the cultivated in-car atmosphere. Infiniti engineers have added noise insulation materials, increased the sealing, and stiffened the wheels, resulting in a reduction of road noise on urban roads.

While the Q70 is known to have a roomy interior, the additional 5.9 inches in the Q70L takes the extended sedan’s rear roominess beyond what competitors offer. Rear knee room is at a superior 32.5 inches in the Q70L, while rear leg room is at an outstanding 41.8 inches, so rear seat passengers can comfortably cross their legs. The excellent rear ingress and egress make traveling in the back of a premium sedan a more enjoyable experience for taller passengers.

Additional standard features on the Q70L include rear door auto closure, rear reading lights, and a 12V rear power outlet. Rear heated seats are available with the Premium Package.

Eight equipment packages allow owners to custom fit their vehicles to their exact tastes: Premium Package, Deluxe Touring Package, Sport Package, AWD Sport Package, Sport Touring Package, Technology Package, V8 LWB Deluxe Technology Package and Performance Tire & Wheel Package.

INFINITI ENHANCES THE Q70 SALOON LINE-UP

The bold premium four-door goes further in all world markets

Rolle, Switzerland – Just recently launched in North America and due to make its European debut at this year’s Paris Auto Show is the much upgraded edition of the Infiniti Q70 premium saloon.

On the exterior, aesthetic changes bring the look closer to that of the all-new Q50 mid-size premium saloon. Both the front and rear bumpers become more chiselled in their appearance, while headlights maintain the “Infiniti eye” using LEDs now as standard equipment. Taillights are also rendered more visible through the use of LEDs. Both the standard grille look and Sport grille change as well to echo more the Q50 aesthetic.

On-board comfort and noise isolation has been further improved. Due to several points around the body and chassis structure being further modified for noise reduction, wind, tyre, and mechanical sound entering the passenger area has been significantly reduced.

In terms of ride comfort, the saloon’s suspension scheme has been modified at all four corners. The existing telescoping dampers now adopt a new seal design between the sliding tubes which minimises in particular initial impacts over road imperfections. At each corner are new standard 18-inch wheels.

Specifically for Europe, the latest Infiniti Q70 now offers an efficient and clean 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder with 167 horsepower and 400 Newton metres of torque, the latter fully on tap from 1600 rpm through 2800 rpm for brisk acceleration and pulling power. Via the Infiniti-specific 1800-psi solenoid injectors and single variable-geometry turbocharger, both turbo-diesel lag time and fuel consumption are reduced.

The Q70 Hybrid with its award-winning powertrain featuring the Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid® system with Intelligent Dual Clutch Control improves as well. From the reduced mechanical friction of the 3.5-litre V6 gas engine to the new software programming managing the whole powertrain, possible EV range is slightly increased and the “sailing” function while at highway cruising speeds with the decoupling of the engine is prolonged.

The range of safety mechanisms on the Q70 is already notable, yet now available in addition on all world markets is the cutting-edge Around View Monitor (AVM). With its arrangement of cameras, sensors, and lasers fore and aft, AVM provides major benefits at blind intersections, tight urban situations, as well as during parking manoeuvers. The front perspective in particular can switch on the on-board screen between a 150-degree wide view and a complete 180-degree wide view to see pedestrians, children, animals and other cars.

The Q70 now also features a greatly enhanced connectivity interface for any variety of current smartphone, as well as additional 12V outlets placed strategically about the cabin and cargo area, plus added small stowage spots for these personal devices. Another on-board enhancement is improved HVAC logic for the climate control that syncs up with the Start/Stop function on the 2.2 turbo-diesel Q70 for Europe, allowing cabin comfort to be maintained as necessary whenever the engine is stopped.

The new Infiniti Q70 starts deliveries in European markets as of December 2014 with all pricing to be announced closer to launch time.

THE NEW INFINITI Q70: SLEEKER, LONGER, SMARTER

  • The Q70’s new looks underscore the prestige the performance sedan offers
  • Long wheelbase version introduced to provide even more spaciousness and flexibility; an additional 5.9 inches over the standard variant
  • Intelligent technologies that make driving safer and more intuitive

New York / Hong Kong – With a fresh new exterior and available long wheelbase version, the new 2015 Infiniti Q70 targets a new vehicle class by fusing the emotion-packed character of a performance vehicle with the comfort and exclusiveness of an extended sedan.

Its evocative design, class-leading rear space, invigorating performance, innovative technology and superior craftsmanship combine to make the new Q70 a strong offering in this category.

Brimming with personality, the Q70 has always been boldly original, standing out from competitors by providing true-blue sport performance with genuine prestige and user-friendly technologies. It has consistently delighted both the enthusiast driver and connoisseur of fine things with Infiniti’s renowned engaging performance that never compromises on ride comfort.

Infiniti is now extending its Q70 family with the introduction of a long wheelbase variant, as well as the regular version, to the US and other markets. The additional 5.9 inches in the wheelbase not only increases the knee and leg space in the back but also greatly augments the athletic presence of the sedan.

With its compelling design and premium interior ambience, the long wheelbase Q70 broadens Infiniti’s offerings for those who desire enhanced spaciousness and versatility, appealing to the sporty sedan fan who also requires executive levels of interior room.

“We know our customers desire more choice and prestige. The long wheelbase Q70 is our offer to them,” said Vincent Gillet, Vice President, Marketing, Infiniti Motor Company Limited. “The Q70 delivers on all accounts – attention to detail, highly crafted materials, class-leading rear roominess, comfortable ride, and superior levels of interior quietness.”

Seductive lines, dynamic curves

The refined elegance of the Q70 takes on a new dramatic design which gives the premium sedan an even more upscale image. Its flowing, emotional lines evoke a premium sleekness.

At first glance, the new headlights impress immediately. Infiniti’s signature LED headlights imply inner intelligence and human insight, leaving an unforgettable impression. The distinctive headlights accentuate the new double arch grille, which now takes on a more three-dimensional look due to the elaborate detail of the high-quality waved mesh finish and chrome surround. The same solid feel is echoed in the new front bumper with integrated fog lights, giving the Q70 a dignified presence on road.

From the front, a strong body line rises from the grille, flowing through the bodyside like a wave and blending into the shape of the new rear LED combination lights, forming a compelling profile that highlights the Q70’s sporty stance.

At the rear, the new design of the tail lights creates a horizontal flow in motion while the high-quality lighting signature evokes a fresh and classy image. The top line of the trunk lid has been flattened while the rear bumper has been slimmed down to create a longer and lower visual impression, further emphasizing the premium sedan’s sporty and powerful styling. The chrome rear finisher adds a touch of class to the entire rear view.

The Sport version features a specially designed front bumper that gives an even lower and wider stance, and 20-inch wheels and tires, while the lower part of the rear bumper is finished in high-gloss black paint to make it look even more athletic.

The design of the new Q70 continues to offer enhanced airflow over the body, resulting in zero front and rear lift as well as a low coefficient of drag of just 0.26 for the hybrid, 0.27 for the standard version and 0.28 for the Sport model.

Premium quality, detailed craftsmanship

Reflecting the sensuous lines of the exterior, the new Infiniti Q70 continues to serve up a well-appointed and inviting interior with high-quality materials such as handcrafted wood accents and custom leather appointments, meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail, as well as user-centered technologies.

Infiniti has always paid special attention to the driver and, in the new Q70, the interior is designed to “fit like a glove”, so that the carefully tailored and crafted cockpit becomes an extension of the driver. Important controls and switches are so intuitively located that the driver does not have to change driving posture to access them.

The instrument panel consists of Fine Vision gauges and a 7-inch full color vehicle information display, while the driver and front passenger’s seats are leather, heated, and feature 10-way power adjustment, including 2-way lumbar support.

While the Q70 is known to have a roomy interior, the additional 5.9 inches in the long wheelbase version takes the extended sedan’s rear roominess beyond what competitors offer. Rear knee room is at a best-in-class 32.4 inches, so rear seat passengers can comfortably cross their legs. The rear ingress and egress are also top in segment, which makes traveling in the back of a premium sedan a more enjoyable experience for taller passengers.

On top of offering rear door auto closure, the long wheelbase version of the new Q70 also provides additional features for rear passengers such as heated seats, reading lights, and a 12V power outlet.

The new Q70 is now quieter than before, even at high speeds. Infiniti engineers have added noise insulation materials, increased the sealing, and stiffened the wheels, resulting in a reduction of road noise on urban roads. The isolation feel at highway speeds on the long wheelbase version is a class-leading 77%, further cementing the Q70’s lead ahead of competitors.

Contributing to the cultivated in-car atmosphere, the Active Noise Control feature monitors cabin noise levels and generates “canceling” sound from four door speakers to reduce noise, so it’s easier to hold conversations in the car or to better enjoy the music. Premium audio systems include the Bose® Studio Surround® sound system with digital 5.1-channel decoding and 16 speakers, two of which are mounted in the shoulders of each front seat.

Other features include Enhanced Intelligent Key, which remembers last used audio, navigation and climate control settings for each key, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and available next-generation Infiniti Hard Drive Navigation System with 8-inch WVGA color touch-screen display. Building on Infiniti’s focus to make owners’ lives easier, the Q70 comes with Infiniti Connection™ telematics services, which include the Infiniti Personal Assistant™, a 24/7 personal concierge service.

Intelligent performance, composed comfort

Staying true to its roots of sporty precision, the new Q70 is the result of methodical calibration by Infiniti engineers who have utilized smart technologies to achieve the exact balance of ride comfort and handling, performance and fuel economy.

A range of powerful and highly efficient powertrains is available, starting with the 3.7-liter V6 and 5.6-liter V8 petrol engines, both of which are equipped with Variable Valve Event & Lift (VVEL®) that combines hydraulic-controlled variable valve timing and electronically controlled variable valve lift on the intake side to help improve performance and response.

The refined 3.7-liter aluminum-alloy DOHC 24-valve V6 is rated at 330 hp @ 7,000 rpm and 366 Nm (270 lb/ft) of torque @ 5,200 rpm, while the powerful 5.6-liter Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG) aluminum-alloy DOHC 32-valve V8 is rated at 420 hp and 565 Nm (417 lb/ft) of torque for the standard model and 416 hp and 561 Nm (414 lb/ft) of torque for the long wheelbase version.

Also available is an award-winning hybrid powertrain featuring the Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid® system with Intelligent Dual Clutch Control.

It combines a 3.5-liter 24-valve DOHC aluminum-alloy V6 and compact laminated lithium-ion battery design with an innovative one-motor/two-clutch motor control. The system’s V6 is rated at 302 hp @ 6,800 rpm and 350 Nm (258 lb/ft) of torque @ 5,000 rpm, while the advanced 50 kW electric motor is rated at 67 hp and 290 Nm (214 lb/ft) of torque. Infiniti’s approach to petrol-electric hybrids is to use the electric motor to boost performance and power, much like how a traditional supercharger would function. This gives the Q70 an immediate surge of torque in the low revs before the 3.5-liter V6 kicks in to push the overall power output to 360 hp.

This hybrid powertrain propelled the then Infiniti M® Hybrid into the Guinness World of Records® as the world’s fastest accelerating full-hybrid car in September 2011, and went on to be the only hybrid named to the prestigious “Ward’s 10 Best Engines” list in 2012. Billed as a “driver’s hybrid”, the powertrain delivers speeds that appeal to the sporty driver, and clean power that pleases everyone.

All the engines are matched to an advanced 7-speed automatic transmission, which allows for sportier shifts during spirited driving. Solid magnesium paddle
shifters are also available. Customers can choose between rear-wheel drive or Infiniti’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system, which uses an advanced torque split control strategy that automatically redistributes torque to the wheels according to road and driving conditions, ensuring sure-footed road holding at all times

In line with the focus on the driver, the new Q70 features technologies that enable individuals to customize the driving feel. The unique Infiniti Drive Mode Selector allows drivers to select from four driving modes – Standard, Eco, Sport or Snow – and the integrated control system will adjust throttle sensitivity and transmission mapping to help optimize performance. To encourage eco-driving behavior, the available Eco Pedal provides feedback directly through the accelerator by giving a slight pushback if driving inefficiently.

The new Q70 utilizes the advanced Front Mid-ship (FM) platform, which positions the engine behind the front axle, resulting in an optimized front-to-rear weight balance. Laser welding is carried out at critical locations to help enhance lateral bending stiffness, torsional stiffness and suspension mounting point stiffness.

Precise handling is provided by an independent double-wishbone design at the front and multi-link independent suspension in the rear, along with front and rear stabilizer bars. The rear suspension geometry has been designed to provide a quiet, comfortable ride. The available double-piston shock absorbers control damping force according to the frequency of input from the road surface for a smoother ride. To increase ride comfort on the new Q70, Infiniti engineers have further tweaked the shock absorbers to respond with greater precision to inconsistences in the road surface so as to minimize uncomfortable “shaking and bobbing” as well as reduce the vibrations when driving on uneven roads.

The steering system on the new Q70 is an electronically controlled speed-sensitive variable-assist power rack-and-pinion design. Helping the driver to maintain control of the vehicle at all times is Infiniti’s advanced Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control System. The available Active Trace Control feature also adjusts engine torque and braking at each wheel to help enhance cornering performance.

Advanced safety, trusted security

Infiniti places maximum value on integral safety, going above and beyond the measures assessed by safety institutions. A core element of that strategy is the Infiniti Safety Shield®, a comprehensive approach to safety that offers layered technologies to help provide safety and convenience by monitoring conditions, helping drivers avoid a collision, and helping protect vehicle occupants if one occurs.

Infiniti adds four innovative technologies to the Q70’s long list of safety and security systems, which are available depending on the series.

The new Predictive Forward Collision Warning system, which debuted on the Q50 and warns the drivers of risks that lie beyond the driver’s field of view, can sense not only the relative velocity and distance of a vehicle directly ahead, but also of a vehicle traveling in front of the preceding one.

Another advanced technology is the Around View® Monitor system, which takes the hassle out of parallel parking. The feature shows a bird’s-eye view of the vehicle in relation to parking lines, using four vehicle-mounted cameras that create a 360-degree view of what surrounds the vehicle and displaying it via the in-dash screen. The system includes Moving Object Detection which alerts the driver to moving objects around the vehicle when pulling out of a parking space or backing up.

Adding another layer of safety, the Backup Collision Intervention® system is a pioneering technology which intelligently senses what the driver may miss when backing up, and can apply the brakes momentarily to help avoid a collision with vehicles and objects crossing its path.

Forward Emergency Braking detects danger of collision with a vehicle ahead and warns the driver with visual and audible warnings. If the driver fails to decelerate, the system will apply an emergency brake and decelerate to either help avoid a collision or mitigate the damage if the collision could not be avoided.

Other safety and driver assist systems continue to give the driver and passengers peace of mind. Both the Lane Departure Warning and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) systems help keep the Q70 from unintentionally drifting into an adjacent lane in case the driver is distracted. Using a small camera behind the windshield to detect lane markers ahead, the technologies calculate the vehicle’s position relative to those lane markers and warn the driver of a potential unintended lane departure with visual and audible cues. If the driver does not steer the vehicle back toward the center of the lane, the LDP system assists the driver with a gentle application of brakes.

The driver will also have greater confidence when changing lanes with two technologies that target the blind spots. Blind Spot Warning helps alert the driver to vehicles detected in the blind spot area, while Blind Spot Intervention® actively intervenes by selectively braking if the driver ignores both visual and audible warnings and attempts to steer into the path of the vehicle in the blind spot.

Other safety features such as Intelligent Cruise Control and Distance Control Assist take the stress out of driving so the driver can arrive at his destination relaxed.

“The new Q70 is a no-compromise premium sedan,” said Gillet. “It pushes every boundary in performance and comfort, delivering a drive that’s exhilarating and rewarding every time.”

NFINITI Q70 SECURES “GOOD” RATING AND 2014 TOP SAFETY PICK+ AWARD FROM INSURANCE INSTITUTE FOR HIGHWAY SAFETY

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Infiniti Q70 sedan has earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “good” for its performance in the institute’s small overlap front crash test, and when equipped with its optional front crash prevention system the Q70 has been awarded a TOP SAFETY PICK+.

The Infiniti Q70’s “good” rating applies to the 2014-15 Q70 as well as the 2013 Infiniti M. The vehicles also received good ratings in the IIHS’ four other crashworthiness evaluations qualifying the Q70 for the 2014 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ award.

“Infiniti is very pleased that the Q70 performed well in the small overlap protection test earning it the prestigious 2014 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ award,” said Infiniti Americas Vice President, Michael Bartsch. “Infiniti has worked hard to incorporate technology into all of its vehicles that not only make the driving experience more dynamic, but also help make driving safer for both the driver and passengers. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s recognition of these efforts only serves to bolster our commitment to be leaders in this field.”

IIHS introduced the small overlap evaluation in 2012. In the test, which is more challenging than either the head-on crashes conducted by the government or the Institute’s moderate overlap test, 25 percent of a vehicle’s front end on the driver side strikes a rigid barrier at 40 mph. The crash replicates what happens when the front corner of a vehicle collides with another vehicle or an object such as a tree or a utility pole.

Infiniti Q70 Advanced Safety and Security Systems
There are also a host of newly available safety technologies for the 2015 Infiniti Q70. Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW) warns the driver of risks beyond the driver’s field of view; Around View® Monitor, which shows a virtual bird’s-eye view of the vehicle in relation to parking lines (the system also includes Moving Object Detection which alerts the driver to moving objects around the vehicle); Backup Collision Intervention®, which helps detect crossing traffic as well as large, stationary objects behind the vehicle and can apply the brakes momentarily to help avoid a collision; and Forward Emergency Braking, which detects danger of collision with a vehicle ahead and warns the driver with visual and audible warnings. Also available is Forward Emergency Braking which warns the driver that deceleration is required via warning tone and visual indicator. If no additional braking action is taken, the system will issue a second audible and visual warning while applying harder braking to reduce the vehicle speed or bring the vehicle to a standstill.

The Infiniti Q70 is available with a number of innovative technologies, including Infiniti’s Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) systems. Also offered are Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Blind Spot Intervention® (BSI) systems, which are available as part of the Technology Package.

INFINITI’S GLOBAL GROWTH PLANS GATHER MOMENTUM

New York / Hong Kong – Infiniti is a brand on the move. Since establishing its global headquarters in Hong Kong and inaugurating Infiniti Motor Company Limited, Infiniti has taken decisive steps to strengthen its brand presence and globalize its business over the last 18 months.

The relocation to Hong Kong means Infiniti is strategically placed for growth in emerging luxury markets such as China while remaining closely connected to the west.

Under the stewardship of President Johan de Nysschen, an experienced management team has been assembled comprising leading multi-national executives from stand-out automotive and luxury goods brands.

The growth plan is underpinned by a commitment to offer product alternatives for a new generation of young-minded premium customers and to challenge the conventions set by the brands currently dominating the premium segment.

It is a norm-challenging growth strategy, with a provocative range of models like Q50 and an upcoming compact vehicle, which debuted as the Q30 Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013, both tailored for the needs of an emerging premium customer. The Q30, the first Infiniti vehicle built in Europe, is due to be launched in 2015.

The Q50 Eau Rouge, revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2014, hints at the high-performance prowess of the Infiniti brand.

Infiniti expects to be present in 80 percent of the premium segments by 2018. To achieve this, Infiniti plans to expand the current product portfolio by 60 percent in the next five years and to double the number of powertrains.

The Q50 sports sedan, recently launched in the United States and Europe, is Infiniti’s first model in this product offensive.

It features Infiniti’s striking new design language, passionate craftsmanship, and a raft of world-leading technologies, chief among them Direct Adaptive SteeringTM, the first steer-by-wire technology in a production vehicle.

The Q30 Concept, meanwhile, is unmistakably Infiniti. Its shape deliberately challenges categorization – not a coupe, not a hatch and not a crossover, but a fusion of the three body styles. It is designed for young-minded customers seeking an alternative to traditional premium compact vehicles.

Critically, the upcoming production version of Q30 will have the input of Sebastian Vettel, Infiniti’s Director of Performance, from inception.

The redesigned Q70, with a long wheelbase version, has combined the athletic character of a performance vehicle with the prestige of an extended sedan.

Infiniti’s future model range will be tailored to local needs like the long wheelbase version of the Q50 and QX50 for the Chinese market.

The powertrain options are being extended also with the recent addition of a turbocharged two-liter petrol engine for the Q50. The new petrol variant will be available to Chinese customers during spring 2014, to European customers in the autumn, before being made available in other markets. A 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine is also available for the Q50 in Europe.

The global manufacturing footprint is growing also with China and the United Kingdom joining production sites in Japan and the United States.

Leveraging strategic alliances such as that with Daimler AG will lead to collaboration on advanced research and development of key future technologies and their applications.

The vision for Infiniti is clear – to produce vehicles defined by emotive design, meticulous attention to detail, unsurpassed hospitality and intuitive technology.
