Mazda Motor Corporation established in 1920 is Japan's fourth-largest automaker. Mazda makes cars, minivans, pickup trucks, and commercial vehicles. Models sold by Mazda in the US include sedans (Mazda 3, Mazda 6), minivans (MPV), sports cars (Miata, RX-8), and pickup trucks (B-Series). Mazda has added an SUV to its lineup with the introduction of the Tribute.

Mazda North American Operations is headquartered in Irvine, Calif., and oversees the sales, marketing, parts and customer service support of Mazda vehicles in the United States and Mexico through nearly 700 dealers. Operations in Mexico are managed by Mazda Motor de Mexico in Mexico City.

In 2010, Ford Motor Company changed its stake in Mazda Motor Corporation to 3.5 percent from 11 percent. Ford plans to remain one of Mazda's largest shareholders and remains committed to its strategic partnership with Mazda, which spans more than 30 years.
