UK RECORD SALES CONTINUE FOR INFINITI IN 2017

  • March registrations +151%
  • Year to date registrations +145%
  • INFINITI remains the UK’s fastest growing automotive brand this year

As the new car market in the UK witnesses record levels of registrations achieved in March and for the first quarter of 2017, INFINITI UK continues to grow its market share with more than double the quantity of cars registered in both periods. This success can be largely attributed to the Sunderland produced Q30 and QX30 models.

March registration figures released today by the Society of Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show a 151% increase in Infiniti registrations compared to March 2016. Figures for the first three months of 2017 confirm that INFINITI is sustaining a strong sales momentum. It remains the fastest growing premium automotive brand in the UK, with a 145% increase in registrations for Q1.

The growth also mirrors record global sales increases for INFINITI models in other markets, not only in Europe but all around the world. The 2017 gains reflect the first full financial year of sales for the INFINITI Q30 active compact, supported by QX30 and the recent addition of the Q60 coupe.

“The number of registered cars may still be modest at 1285 units for the first three months of the year but, compared to our competitors, we remain a relatively young company in the UK and our continued growth is now more visible than ever, as more INFINITI vehicles are seen driving on UK roads. Along with this increased volume, the widely praised, stand-out design of the INFINITI range is helping to raise public awareness of the brand,” said INFINITI UK Regional Director, Barry Beeston.

The INFINITI range includes a selection of premium saloons, compacts, coupes, crossovers and SUV’s. Q30 active compact along with its QX30 crossover sibling start the range from £20,850. The Q50 and the larger Q70 represent the saloon versions and the QX70 is the top of the range Sports Utility Vehicle. The new Q60 re-introduces a 2 door coupe to the line-up. A mid-sized crossover QX50 is expected next year and will feature new world first technologies.

The Q60 2 door coupe with the 2.0ltr turbo engine entered the range late in 2016 and is now being joined by the 3.0ltr V6 400ps version.
