launch of the new generation of engines in autumn 2000 meant that the BMW Z3 2.0 was replaced by the new model with a 2.2 litre 6-cylinder engine.

generating 231 hp replaced the previous 2.8 litre engine generating 193 hp. This enabled BMW to create the ultimate driving machine: lightweight,
compact, powerful, extremely fast and with full everyday utility. Nearly 4,000 units were manufactured and this made the Z3 coupé 3.0i one of the coveted classics even today.
