BMW 329 / 335 Models (1936-1941)
BMW 329 convertible 4-seater
In 1936 and 1937 BMW built the Type 329, which closely resembled the new 326 touring saloon/sedan and used technical features from the 319
model. Superseded in 1937 by the Type 320, the 329 was available in only two body styles, which resembled draft designs from Sindelfingen in their
styling. The over-emphasised tail of the four-seater convertible was lacking in harmony. The factory delivered 42 of the two-seater convertible version, which was visually more successful.

The BMW 335 gave BMW access to the top-of-the-range automobile segment. It was presented to the public for the first time in 1938 as a
prototype. Series production began on a small scale in 1939. The powerful 3.5-litre engine was installed in a modified BMW 326 body with an
extended front-end. Production bodies were a saloon, a convertible with two doors and a convertible with four doors. 17 chassis were supplied for customized bodywork to be fitted.
